Welcome!
If you are here that means you are a first-time buyer. You are starting out on your journey to purchase your first home in Scotland and are not sure where to begin.
Buying your first home can be a complex and daunting process, with lots of potential pit falls to watch out for. The good news is you don’t need to take on the challenge alone. Our mission is to demystify the buying process and make home ownership accessible for everyone in Scotland.
This site aims to give you the information you need to buy your first home. Our guides take you step by step through what you need to know and what you need to do to become a homeowner.
To make it as simple as possible, we have arranged the site around three main topics. Getting a mortgage , choosing a property, and making an offer. There are also some bonus articles on what to think about when you’re moving in.
Sometimes, what holds people back is not a lack of knowledge but a lack of self-belief. Buying your first home is probably the largest purchase of your life and it can feel like an enormous leap in the dark.
In our podcast, we speak with industry experts, as well as first time buyers like you, about how to overcome the doubts and take on the challenges that hold people back from getting their first set of keys.
One barrier for a lot of people is that the legal language used in Scotland can seem archaic and difficult to understand. To address this, we have created a dictionary that explains the terms you are likely to encounter during the buying process.
Soon, we will be adding an online course, a book and a checklist you can buy and download. So keep an eye on the news section for updates.
We love hearing the stories of people we’ve helped, so if you’d like to share your story, or you have any feedback or questions, please contact us here.
We hope you find the site useful and that it helps you achieve your dream of home ownership in Scotland.
